Discreet Employee protection

With violent crime seemingly forever on the increase, it becomes more and more vital for every organisation to provide effective protection for its workforce.  Small retailers and those handling cash and valuables are always particularly at risk. Teleprecision’s inconspicuous employee protection products offer an effective way to manage staff security in addition to the other CCTV benefits provided.

The wireless protection devices operate by allowing the holder or wearer to request a response from a control station, usually off-site.  In the case of a shop worker, the panic device takes the form of a small hand-held keyfob which can be operated from inside a pocket.  It is possible to signal two levels of alert from this type of device which are usually designated as something like “keep an eye on me” or “armed robbery in progress, fast police response required”.  Discreet indicators are often added to give the user confidence that an alert has been registered and / or is being responded to.

To protect an employee outside the premises, for example while moving valuables or locking up, the belt-worn ‘man-down’ alarm is more appropriate.  This can be activated manually to summon a remote response or triggers automatically if the wearer should collapse.

In either case, the response request is sent to a control centre – either locally, at ‘head office’ or to a third party Alarm Receiving Centre – at a very high priority.  Control centre operators are trained to monitor incidents and to involve the appropriate authorities in a timely fashion.

Where CCTV is installed within, for example, a shop to promote increased security, it can be used also to record point-of-sale data, customer habits, queuing statistics, etc.  By providing this type of management information, integrated with other management systems, Teleprecision’s CCTV technology becomes a profit generator and not just an unwelcome security cost.
